THE POD

Not hands for hire. The top of the craft, armed with our AI-native Software Factory.

You get an outsourced software development team on your delivery. When they go, you own what they built and nWave itself, configured the way they ran it.

Not staff augmentation, not an offshore team. Four commitments, and they are next.

What you get is a dedicated development team, on four terms

We call it 'the pod'.

Only nWave specialists.

The people who arrive have done this before, at your scale, and none of them is learning on your delivery. Every one of them is certified through the SW Craftsmanship Dojo®.

A tech lead holds the governance.

Daily governance sits with one person who masters both the technical and the leadership domain, and who speaks to your board in its own language. Not a coordinator.

A minimum engagement, sized to the outcome.

Our specialists carry behavioral-science rigor into the way your people work, not only into the code, so the engagement runs long enough for the new habits to still be there after we leave.

It ends with your team owning it.

The definition of done is handover, written into the engagement rather than promised at the end of it. What is left behind is an organisation that has built beside ours, and the AI-native tooling it built with.

We are running pods right now, from startups to Fortune 100 engineering organisations.

Who they are with, and in what industry, we do not publish. Anonymity that identifies is worse than silence. You would get the same silence.

You already have a way in mind. Here it is, beside the other two.

You are choosing between three of these whether or not you have named them. Here they are with the trade stated honestly, including the two that are not us.

Compared on four things you will be asked about internally.
Compared onYou hire themYou offshore themYou bring in the pod
What it takes to startMonths of hiring, and months more before new people are at full speedThe fastest of the three, and often by a lot. You get whoever is on the bench, not someone chosen for your buildDojo-certified nWave specialists start on the delivery, with an accountable lead from day one
Who is accountable for the outcomeYou are, from the first day to the lastYou are, and you review everything that arrivesThe lead is, by name, and the governance is daily
What you own the day afterThe team, and everything that comes with employing itWhat was built, and whatever your own people learned reviewing itThe working software, your own team running it the way it was built, and nWave configured the way they ran it
When this is the right answer for youThis capability is the thing you sell, and you intend to carry it for yearsThe work is well defined, you know exactly what good looks like, and you have the senior people to check itYou need it built now, and you also intend to keep building it after

Three questions worth asking whoever you choose, including us.

  1. Who is accountable for the outcome, by name, and what happens the week it slips?
  2. When this ends, who in the building knows how the thing works?
  3. What do we have to keep buying afterwards to keep it running?

Ask all three of every vendor on your list. If you only ask one, ask the second.

Who this is not for

We would rather say this here than three weeks into a conversation, when it has cost you time you cannot get back.

If the lowest hourly rate is what you are optimising for, this is not that.

We are not the cheapest and we will not pretend to be. Rented hands do that job, and you will find them faster than you will find us. Finding them is the fast part.

If you want someone to own the software so you never have to think about it, this is not that either.

A pod is a temporary bridge, never a managed service forever. It is built to end, and it ends with your people holding it. If you do not yet have the people who will hold it, we help you grow them from your own team while the pod is still there.

If the work is a task list you already know how to review, you do not need an accountable lead.

You need hands. Paying for seniority you will not use is a waste of your money, and we will say so on the call. Sometimes the work turns out to be a different shape once someone senior looks at it, and the call is a cheap way to find out which one this is.

Not ready to talk to anyone yet? The free AI-readiness assessment measures where your organisation actually stands on AI, and it asks nothing of you afterwards. It measures the same gap a pod is built to close: the delivery ships, and the distance between your teams and AI-native work closes while it does.

How it ends, and what you are holding the day after

What ends.
The engagement ends when your team can hold the delivery without us. That is the definition of done, not a milestone we get to skip when the calendar gets tight.
What you own the day after.
The working software. Your own people, who built it with ours rather than watching them build it. And the way it was built, which stays whether or not you keep buying anything from us.
What we take away.
Our people. That is the entire list.

If the question is bigger than one delivery, and it is really about how your whole organisation builds software, that is what the Helm is.

How a price is formed here

You will not find a price on this page, and you will not be handed a rate card, because neither would be true for your engagement.

A number is built from one thing: the goal you are trying to hit. The goal decides the shape of the pod: which profiles it takes, and what it takes to get there. That shape is the number. One conversation about the goal, then a number for the engagement.

If that sounds like it takes a call, it does. It takes one.

Custom-quoted per engagement. No rate card, no unit price, no standing figure.

The questions people arrive with

Is this outsourced software development?

You have software to build and not enough senior people to build it, so someone else brings people and builds it. That part is the same, and yes, that is what happens here.

Here is the part that is different. When work is outsourced, it leaves and it stays outside; the knowledge that builds it lives with the vendor. A pod is built to end. Our people work inside your delivery, beside your team, and the engagement is done when your team can run it without us.

Call it whatever your board calls it. What changes is what you are holding the day after we leave.

Is this a dedicated development team?

Yes, and it is the most accurate of the words people arrive with. The people on a pod are allocated to your delivery for the engagement, they work in your team's rhythm, and one of them is accountable for the outcome.

One difference is worth knowing: a pod is not permanent by design. It is meant to end, and it is meant to leave your team able to carry it.

Are you an AI development agency?

We build with AI, on an engine we wrote and gave away. It is called nWave, it is open source, and you can install it today without talking to us.

"Agency" is not a word we use for ourselves, and it matters less than this: the people who arrive already build this way, and your team learns it while the work ships rather than in a course afterwards.

What does it cost?

There is no rate card, and the honest answer is that it depends on which profiles the goal needs and for how long. That is worked out in one conversation, and then quoted. The section above walks through how.

What if we just need extra hands for a while?

Then this is probably not the right thing to buy, and we will tell you that on the call rather than three weeks in. Look at the section on who this is not for; it is written for exactly that question.

You tell us what you are building. We tell you, in one conversation, whether a pod is the right shape for it.

Talk about a delivery under pressureTalk about a build you want moving now

You have something live that is slipping, and you want senior hands on it beside your team.

You have something to build, and you want it built the way you intend to keep building it.

No obligation, just a conversation.
